All across the world, from Mexico to Paris, people are getting ready to celebrate this spooky holiday. So, if you’re looking for the perfection scarecation this year, we’ve got some great suggestions!

SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS

Where better to spend Halloween than in a city notorious for its spooky past? Salem is perhaps most famous for the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, and now draws thousands of tourists every year eager to learn more about the city’s unique history.

Visit during October, when the city hosts various Halloween events, including spooky city tours and street parades. A visit to the Salem Witch Museum will also set the scene for a truly frightening Halloween!

When the sun sets, Barcelona’s bars and clubs come alive, promising a Halloween you won’t forget in a hurry. Get dressed up, stick your best vampire fangs in and dance the night away to themed music and live entertainment.

MEXICO

Although Halloween is celebrated by children in Mexico, it is often overshadowed by the Day of the Dead.

This long-standing festival sees people all over Mexico gathering to remember their lost loved ones, and to celebrate their passage into the next life. During this time the streets come alive with market stalls selling traditional sugar skulls, delicious foods and decorations for shrines; there’s also plenty of lavishly dressed altars and parades of people with their faces painted.

There are plenty of activities during the day to keep even the most diehard Halloween enthusiast satisfied. Dress up for London Comic Con which takes place 27-29 October or head to the London Dungeons, where you’re guaranteed a good scare!
