Emirates, Then and Now

We are proud to have been working with Emirates Airline since the day they first operated out of the UK in July 1987 and Skylord Travel were appointed their first ticketing agent here in the UK. It was the an exciting time for the airline industry as a whole and we could see the potential of both Emirates as an Airline and Dubai as a destination had going forward. But I don't think anyone would have predicted the massive growth story that followed.

In its first year of flying, 1985,  Emirates carried just over 260,000 passengers. In 2015/16 Emirates carried 51.9 million passengers. No other airline has seen that time of growth in such a short period of of time.

Below are some pictures showing the Emirates Airline then and now! You can see how far thing have come in the last 30 years!
